What is Bulls and Cows?

Bulls and Cows is a classic logic game. Your goal is to work out a secret 4-digit number where every digit is different. After each guess you'll see:

• 🐂 Bulls: correct digit in the correct position
• 🐄 Cows: correct digit in the wrong position

Use the feedback to zero in on the code. Get 4 bulls to win. There's a new daily code every day, so come back tomorrow for a fresh one.

Ways to play

🧠 Daily puzzle. One new code every day for everyone. Build a streak, go back through previous days and share your result.

🐂 Bull Rush. Five clues that point to exactly one code. One shot to get it right.

⚔️ Play a friend. You each set a secret code and race to crack the other's first, live.

🏫 Classroom mode. A teacher sets one code and the whole class plays at once, with results live on the board.

The global leaderboard

Play 10 daily games in a season and your device submits your record anonymously. The daily board ranks consistency: a low average guess count across many games. Bull Rush is ranked by win rate. See the top players.

History

Bulls and Cows has been played for generations on pen and paper, became one of the first computer games as MOO in the late 1960s, and inspired the board game Mastermind. It's a favourite of puzzle fans, teachers and programmers. The teachers' guide has the full story with sources.
